China Medical University has carried forward a 95-year tradition of revolutionary medical service while upholding compassion at the heart of medicine. On the occasion of the university’s 90th anniversary, President Xi Jinping sent an important congratulatory letter, encouraging the university to carry forward its revolutionary traditions and live up to its mission in the new era. In 2021, two China Medical University alumni, Wu Tianyi and Xin Yuling, were awarded the July 1 Medal, the highest honor of the Communist Party of China. In the new era, medical professionals shaped by the university’s revolutionary tradition have stepped forward in major missions, including the SARS response, earthquake relief, and the fight against COVID-19. They have also actively provided medical assistance abroad and supported health care in Xinjiang and Xizang. Conviction transcends time and space, and the founding mission lights the way ahead. China Medical University will continue to shoulder its responsibility in the great endeavor of national rejuvenation and write a new chapter worthy of the times.
