The well-arranged lights emitting dazzling glows give prominence to the elegant lines of the basket-shaped bridge and form a delightful contrast with the fast flow of urban traffic, creating a captivating cityscape of vitality and tranquility. On the evening of March 22, the debugging work of the lighting project in the Shenyang Nanjing Bridge was completed to officially unveil the project.
The azure coating under the bridge reveals its graceful and unique natural color. As night falls and the lights light up, the bridge immediately becomes glittering and dazzling. The four-color lights, which symbolize the changing of the four seasons, are in perfect harmony on top of the bridge arches and suspension cables, attracting many passing citizens to stop and watch. The colorful neon lights are reflected on the sparkling Hunhe River. Looking from above, all these appear to be a beautiful ink painting floating on a silver belt, where people can take a stroll and enjoy a pleasant view.
As the earliest cross-river bridge over the Hunhe River in Shenyang, the Nanjing Bridge has taken on a new look after last year’s renovation, which also relieves the pressure of traffic congestion in nearby areas. The lighting project uses warm yellow as the dominant hue, and the lighting techniques, such as light intensity changing, light and dark contrasting, color contrasting, and color gradient contrasting, to unfold the “readiness” of the bridge.
In order to save energy and protect the environment, new energy-saving lighting equipment, such as LED, is utilized, which not only improves the technical level and technological content in night lighting, but also meets economic and environmental requirements. Jin Zhenyu, deputy director general of the Urban Construction Department of the Shenyang Urban and Rural Development Bureau, said that the lighting project also employs an intelligent control system that realizes the switchover of weekday mode and holiday mode. For holidays and different seasons, flexible control modes will be adopted accordingly, which can save more than 25% of energy.
