On April 17, the Information Office of the Liaoning Provincial People’s Government held a press conference, presenting and interpreting the “Guiding Opinions on Promoting High-quality Development of the Consumer Goods Industry”.
To enhance its supply capacity of quality and distinctive consumer goods, Liaoning has drafted the “Guiding Opinions on Promoting High-quality Development of the Consumer Goods Industry”. The objective of this measure is to ensure that by 2025, the consumer goods industry above the designated size in Liaoning will achieve a business revenue of 600 to 650 billion yuan, with an average annual growth rate surpassing the national average.
The consumer goods industry in Liaoning will strengthen and improve traditional competitive industries. It will vigorously develop products that meet urgent demands in health, childcare, elderly care and other fields. Through leveraging Liaoning’s industrial foundations in fine chemicals, new metallurgical materials, equipment manufacturing, and agricultural product processing, the consumer goods industry will extend its industrial chain and drive its development into areas such as chemical raw medicine, chemical fibers, medical equipment, metal products, plastic products, and paper packaging. Moreover, the industry will accelerate the development of sectors such as pre-made meals, products for the elderly, snow and ice equipment, tussah silk fabrics, and biopharmaceuticals, with a focus on introducing and cultivating emerging consumer goods industries.
Liaoning will strive to establish a collection of internationally and domestically renowned “trendy” brands with Liaoning elements in food, educational and sports products, etiquette and leisure goods, textiles, and clothing. It will consolidate and enhance the regional industrial influence of “Xingcheng, China’s Famous Swimwear City”, “Dandong, China’s Capital of Manchu Traditional Medicine”, and “Fuxin, World Agate Capital”. Efforts will be made to develop the platform economy and support new marketing ways such as live-streaming sales and community group buying. Furthermore, Liaoning aims to expand its international market presence by hosting large-scale economic and trade events like the China Liaoning Commodities Expo and the Liaoning International Sourcing Fair with high standards. The province will support enterprises in obtaining international certifications, establishing overseas warehouses, and exploring new channels for foreign trade.
