On December 25, 2024, the Information Office of Liaoning Provincial People’s Government held a press conference of the series on the “Nature’s Embrace, Liaoning’s Grace” ice and snow economy in Fuxin, introducing details about Fuxin’s cultural and tourism projects for this winter.

This winter, Fuxi will continue to develop new forms of cultural and tourism industrial integration such as “Ice and Snow + Hot Springs” and “Ice and Snow + Folk Customs”. With the theme “Enjoy the Ice and Snow Season: Cold Weather with Warm Hospitality”, Fuxin will launch the “Winter Tour in Fuxin” project featuring four major themes: experiencing passion and vitality, sharing the cultural feast, indulging in the charm of local markets, and exploring the traces of historical relics, which will offer visitors with a warm and joyful winter feast.

Following the 2024-2025 National Ski Orienteering Challenge, Fuxin will introduce various ice and snow sports events, including Tongqi Ice and Snow Parent-Child Carnival, Huangjiagou Parent-Child Ice and Snow Activities, snow fun games, and the National Ski Orienteering Challenge, attracting wide participation from ice and snow enthusiasts both locally and beyond.

During the New Year’s Day and Spring Festival celebrations, Fuxin will host the Liaoshen Crosstalk Conference, calligraphy and painting exhibitions for the upcoming Spring Festival, the Year of the Snake Zodiac-themed cultural exhibitions, and other cultural activities. Building upon the traditional winter ice and snow activities, these events will incorporate traditional culture, humanities, and interactive experiences among the masses, achieving the inheritance and innovation of ice and snow culture.

As the Spring Festival approaches, Fuxin has meticulously planned the “Experience the Warmth of Fuxin at the New Year Fair” event, providing visitors with a selection of New Year goods ranging from traditional handicrafts to local delicacies. The event will feature on-site tastings, hands-on experiences, and various interactive activities, allowing visitors to closely experience the market charm of Fuxin.

During this ice and snow season, Fuxin has created a journey of historical inheritance and exploration following the ice and snow. Highlights include “Ingenuity Inheritance: Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition in Fuxin”, “Explore Hometown History, and Continue Cultural Inheritance: Fuxin Winter Study Activities”, and the “Chahai Ruins Museum: Hunting Tour for Loong Totem”. These events will be successively unveiled, offering visitors an enriching journey into Fuxin’s cultural traditions.
