On December 27, 2024, the Information Office of Liaoning Provincial People’s Government held a press conference of the series on the “Nature’s Embrace, Liaoning’s Grace” ice and snow economy in Fushun, introducing details about Fushun’s cultural and tourism projects for this winter.

This winter, Fushun has fully leveraged its ice and snow resources, creating more than 30 ice and snow-themed scenarios. With five distinct highlights — “Winter Fun”, “Romantic Experiences”, “Family Joy”, “Cultural Flavors”, and “Enchanting Nights”, the city will offer a one-stop solution to meet the diverse needs of tourists seeking ice and snow adventures.

The Yulongxi Ice and Snow World’s viral “Snow Snake” and the trending “S-Curve Snow Tube Drift” at Tiannyushan Forest Park’s winding Eighteen Turns offer visitors a thrilling fusion of ice and excitement in nature. At the Sankuaishi National Forest Park, enchanting jellyfish lanterns and playful cartoon-themed displays create a magical and romantic ice and snow wonderland. Meanwhile, the “Shanshuiyi” Snow Sculpture Rose Square in Shangma Town features an array of handcrafted folk activities, offering a cozy winter setting for lantern viewing and scenic enjoyment. Across Fushun, a diverse range of ice and snow entertainment projects — combining skiing, family-friendly fun, and educational experiences — ensures visitors can enjoy a relaxing and joyful wintertime with their loved ones.

At the Old City of Hetu Ala, visitors can immerse themselves in the fishing and hunting ethnic customs, experience local folk customs through appreciating Manchu songs and dances, traditional Manchu wedding customs, and through participating in archery activities, while savoring the most authentic Manchu cuisine. At the World Cultural Heritage Site of the Yongling Mausoleum of the Qing Dynasty, a blessing ceremony will be held on the Lunar New Year’s Day at Qiyun Mountain, where visitors can engage in traditional ice sports, explore the bustling Manchu market for local treats, and stay in distinctive Manchu-style homestays. These will allow visitors to joyfully experience local customs for the Spring Festival.
