On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam, a friendship delegation from Vietnam’s Long An Province embarked on a week-long visit to Liaoning on May 12. On May 15, the delegation attended the “2025 China’s Liaoning Province (Dalian) – Vietnam’s Long An Province Trade and Investment Matchmaking Conference”, where government representatives and key enterprises from Dalian City and Long An Province mutually promoted their investment environments.

Liaoning Province has always attached great importance to economic and trade cooperation with Vietnam. In 2024, the total import and export volume of Liaoning Province with Vietnam reached 10.41 billion yuan, including 7.86 billion yuan in exports and 2.55 billion yuan in imports. As of March this year, 38 enterprises from Liaoning Province invested in Vietnam, with a total agreed investment of 99.286 million US dollars. These figures not only witness the solid foundation of bilateral cooperation, but also highlight huge cooperation potential between the two sides. Liaoning Province and Long An Province have strong complementarity in economic structures and industrial features, offering a broad space for cooperation in expanding trade scale, deepening industrial collaboration, and carrying out technological exchanges.

Since the establishment of the friendly cooperative relationship between the Liaoning Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Long An Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations in 2015, Liaoning Province and Long An Province have maintained positive and friendly relations over the past decade, which has created more possibilities for multi-field cooperation in the future through high-level visits and in-depth business matchmaking events. Members of the Long An delegation expressed their hope that both sides will further enhance industrial cooperation and deepen pragmatic collaboration in fields such as equipment manufacturing, petrochemicals, biotechnology, and port and shipping logistics.

After the matchmaking conference, the Long An delegation had in-depth exchanges and promoted cooperation with Liaoning enterprises. Both sides look forward to fostering exchanges and mutual learning in areas such as economic and trade expansion, cultural, sports and tourism industries, and youth exchanges. These aim to leverage their respective advantages to jointly inject new vitality into the high-quality construction of the Belt and Road Initiative through sharing resources and exchanging technologies, thus achieving mutual benefit and win-win results.
