On October 17, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Dance Parade of the 4th Annual Conference on Intangible Cultural Heritage Safeguarding in China was staged in Chaoyang, Liaoning Province. Twenty-four performing teams from the national, provincial, municipal and county levels paraded along a 2.3-kilometer route, turning the streets of the ancient city into a moving stage for intangible cultural heritage.
The Beipiao Stilt Yangge team danced to the resonant beat of gongs and drums, and five national-level intangible cultural heritage items — Ansai Waist Drum, Puning Yingge Dance, Miao Jinji Dance, Anhui Flower Drum Lantern Dance and Jingpo Munao Zongge — were performed in turn. The convergence of northern and southern cultural traditions infused millennia-old intangible cultural heritage with vigorous vitality in the new era.
